Music mogul Russell Simmons has an undoubtedly astute business acumen that’s lauded him a long list of noteworthy accomplishments over the years.  Now the CEO and founder of All Def Digital, Simmons delivers a brilliant motivational manifesto in this Grammy U clip, directed and produced by Amir Abbassy and Sydney Kim.

“Success to me is happiness.  Money can’t make you happy, but happy can make you money.   For those who think ‘I’ll be happy when I get that money,’ no.  You’ll get that money when you’re happy.  The reality is that you have to operate from a present space.  Presence promotes happiness, and when you have that kind of happiness…you attract good things.”

He also spoke on the inspiration behind his newest venture, All Def Digital, saying:  “It’s a place where people can express themselves in ways the gatekeepers wouldn’t allow in the past.  We got a lot of young, talented people who understand new media, and that wouldn’t be given a chance at some big, stupid company.   They’re here running this company, and they’re going to make a big success out of it, while the old people watch.”
