Get her while you can
Nicki Minaj has plowed through 2014, with feature verses, hit singles, loose bangers and, well, it wouldn’t be Nicki without controversy. In an interview she recently did with Complex, Nicki talked about something she rarely talks about: starting a family. Despite her insanely busy schedule, Nicki expressed her intent to eventually press pause on her career, have a child, and be heavily involved. The interviewer used the term “retirement,” and while Nicki didn’t want to use that word per se, she did hint at the fact that “I have to put out all six of my albums, contractually,” but after the 5th, there’s a chance Nicki goes away for a while.
Yeah. I won’t use the word “retire” but I would use the word “vacation”—because I don’t believe in vacations, I don’t believe in holidays.
She went on to say:
After the fifth, I’ll probably have my baby. I wonder if I’m going to be one of those women who balances my child with a career.
We’ll see. For now, let’s focus on The Pinkprint, which will finally be released on December 15th.
