During an interview with Bill Cosby rape accuser Joan Tarshis, Don Lemon dishes out some advice on how to avoid being raped

CNN anchor Don Lemon has quite the history of being the object of much scorn and ridicule due to his sometimes overzealous forms of journalism. Whether it’s taking African-Americans to task over the airwaves or his coverage of the Michael Brown shooting in Ferguson, MO, right or wrong, Lemon always seems to stir up some form of controversy amongst viewers. Each instance often leading to a barrage of insults thrown his way via Twitter, to which he doesn’t seem to mind.

Expect the slanderous tweets to continue rolling in as Lemon has stepped over the line–something he does habitually–once again. This time, while interviewing alleged Bill Cosby rape victim Joan Tarshis, Lemon gave her some “advice” on how to avoid being raped.

Lemon: Can I ask you this? And please, I don’t mean to be crude, OK?
Tarshis: Yeah.
Lemon: You said this last night, that he — you lied to him and said, “I have an infection, and if you rape me, or if you do — if you have intercourse with me, then you will probably get it and give it to your wife.”
Tarshis: Right.
Lemon: You said he made you perform oral sex.
Tarshis: Right.
Lemon: You — you know, there are ways not to perform oral sex if you didn’t want to do it.
Tarshis: I was kind of stoned at the time, and quite honestly, that didn’t even enter my mind. Now I wish it would have.
Lemon: Right. Meaning the using of the teeth, right?
Tarshis: Yes…I didn’t even think of it.
Lemon: Biting.
Tarshis: Ouch.
Lemon: Yes. I had to ask.

Either Lemon is misinformed, has zero self-awareness or maybe both, but passively suggesting how an alleged victim could have avoided being raped, on national TV nonetheless, shows that perhaps some sensitivity training is order. Per usual, Lemon is currently being aired out via Twitter. It is worth mentioning that Lemon also has a history of being sexual abused.
