If you haven’t been paying attention to the news within the past 24 hours, many areas in the northeast region have been blanketed with massive amounts of snow. The hardest hit was the Western New York city of Buffalo. So far, the storm has yielded six deaths and has hundreds more trapped inside their homes. Buffalo is usually more equipped to handle snow storms as it is consistently one of the coldest places in the United States. Weather forecasters are predicting that the city might but hit with as much as 6 feet of snow when it is all said and done. Almost all businesses and government offices are closed, as well as roughly 140 miles of Interstate 90, where more than 100 cars are trapped. New York state Governor Andrew Cuomo has declared a state of emergency, calling in help from the federal government.

As strenuous as that sounds, residents of the city are still psyched about their hometown Buffalo Bills. Knowing this, the team made it clear that they intend to play Sunday’s 1pm game at Ralph Wilson Stadium against division rivals, the New York Jets. To combat the snowfall, the team has offered payment and game tickets to fans who assist with the snow removal at the stadium. The team is reporting that 220,000 tons of snow needs to be removed. Great way to kill to 2 birds with one stone, make some extra bucks and get to watch your favorite team face off against the reeling Jets.
