Too Good To Be True.
With the holiday season in full effect and Black Friday right around the corner, zealous consumers are looking for any way to get a leg up while shopping this year. If you were one of the thousands perusing Twitter the past few nights, you might have caught wind of several Twitter users boasting about purchasing PS4‘s for prices ranging from $50 to $100. How is the possible you ask? It’s pretty simple, in order to ensure top customer service and the best rates anywhere, Walmart let consumers know that they are willing to match any advertised product priced by their competitors.
“We’re committed to providing low prices every day, on everything. So if you find a lower advertised price on an identical product, tell us and we’ll match it. Right at the register.”
That policy will be undergoing some major adjustments as it has been revealed that some of the Twitterworld’s most devious users set up bogus listings on Amazon.com and Sears.com of heavily underpriced goods such as PS4’s and Nintendo Wii bundle’s for the sole purpose of printing them out and visiting their local Wally World establishments. Some of the savvier Walmart employees were able to catch on to these schemes rather quickly but some folks did make off with under priced goods. Since then, Amazon and Sears have been closely monitoring their sites for suspicious activity. Congratulations to those who came up, but since the lid has been opened on this operation, the rest of us have to get back on line next week.
