Attorney Saul Goodman is back in business.
Fans of AMC’s now classic television series Breaking Bad can begin to rejoice as the station has announced the premiere date for their spinoff series, Better Call Saul. The show is actually a prequel to the original, taking place six years before greasy attorney Saul Goodman, played by Bob Odenkirk, ever met the renegade High School chemistry teacher Walter White. Reassembling the creative team behind the original, the spinoff is executive produced by Vince Gilligan, Peter Gould, Mark Johnson, and Melissa Bernstein.
Things will kick off with a two night premiere set for Sunday, February 8 at 10PM and Monday, February 9 at 10PM. At that point the series will air weekly during the Monday time slot. Better Call Saul’s first season consists of 10 episodes, but AMC has already green-lit a 13 episode second season. The television station looks to make bank in the month of February as the series will follow the mid-season premiere of the very popular Walking Dead series, airing February 8 at 9pm.
AMC president Charlie Collier:
“Known to ‘Breaking Bad’ fans as Saul Goodman, viewers will soon discover Saul wasn’t always Albuquerque’s top criminal lawyer. Huge thanks to Vince Gilligan, Peter Gould, Bob Odenkirk, our partners at Sony and the entire team. We’re thrilled to be cooking together again.”
As NFL great Terrell Owens would say “get yo popcorn ready”.
