Earlier this week in the East Indian village of West Bengal, a millennial phenomenom occurred when a baby was born with 4 arms and 4 legs. Thousands of residents in the eastern part India have been visiting the hospital as they have dubbed the child ‘God Baby’. The nickname stems from the appearance of the Hindu God Brahma, which has multiple limbs. According to USA Today, the the chairman of the department of obstetrics and gynecology at Hackensack University Medical Center stated that this birth is actually the result of a “parasitic twin”. Similar to conjoined twins, which are two living fetuses attached to each other. In this instance, one of the twins never fully develops, causing it to be encased in the other fetus.

The scene at the hospital has gotten a bit chaotic as police were called to control the crowd filled with crying and praying villagers.

A relative of the baby:

“When he first came out we couldn’t believe it. The nurses said he was badly deformed but I could see that this was a sign from God. In fact, this is a miracle, its God’s baby. Indian God’s have extra limbs just like this.”

Police Spokesperson:

“This is a freak baby and it is tragic, there is nothing Godly about him at all. But the crowds are going berserk and clamouring to see the child. Hundreds are crying in the streets, hundreds of others are praying and setting up camp here. Some are even panicking and believe this is a sign of the end of the world. I have never seen anything like this in my whole career.”
