Normally I’m the one that gathers the orphans. Back when The Roots were on our Grateful Dead 300 days of the year touring grind, I was the one that would throw a dinner and invite all the people that couldn’t go home or that didn’t want to go home or that stayed. Or you could just say that I was too cheap to send them home. This marks the first year that Jimmy is not going to shoot a show on Thanksgiving. And it also marks the first year that we don’t have to wake up at four o’clock in the morning to chill with Ronald McDonald and do the parade. I’m actually used to doing the parade so I kinda wish we were doing the parade. It’s fun for me. I’m going to do the one thing I don’t know how to do, which is nothing. I going to DJ the night before and I’m DJ-ing the night after but there’s a movie theater inside my crib so I’ll invite like twelve people over. And I told my friends that were going to come over we’re going to watch five movies.

50 Cent also shared his Thanksgiving plans with Examiner.com at the event:

I’m gonna go to my grandparents’ house ‘cause I’m going to hang out with my grandfather. My grandmother passed away not too long ago so I want to make sure he’s not by himself for the holidays … I don’t really know what Thanksgiving is going to be like this year honestly without her. Now it’s going to be different without my grandma, she kinda pushed us for Thanksgiving. But now it’ll be a little bit different, still be fun, being around loved ones.
