When LeBron James spoke to Sports Illustrated writer Lee Jenkins over the summer to announce his return to the Cleveland Cavaliers, he uttered the following tidbit, which puts the Cavaliers’ early season troubles into some interesting perspective.

We’re not ready right now. No way. Of course, I want to win next year, but I’m realistic. It will be a long process, much longer than it was in 2010. My patience will get tested. I know that. I’m going into a situation with a young team and a new coach.

Sure, the Cavs would love to not be 5-8 right now–still good for 7th in the East–and on a 4-game losing streak, but such is life considering the factors LeBron mentioned in his SI interview. That being said, it doesn’t mean he has to like it, or be happy about it.

So, shortly before an inbounds play, when LeBron yells “You gotta cut…F*CK!,” to another teammate on national television. Remember, these are just growing pains.
