The hood billionaire speaks.

With his new album, Hood Billionaire, officially hitting shelves today, Rick Ross has been trekking the pavement the past few weeks to get the word out for the release. His methods included traditional online marketing used by various artists, but the MMG impresario also took a more grassroots approach. Rozay held private industry listening events, so tastemakers in various major cities can get a first listen. One of the cities he touched down in, which he calls his second home, was Atlanta. While there, he not only put his new project on full display, but spoke briefly with HipHopSince 1987 and gave some insight into some of the things fans critics have been wondering.

Aside from explaining the meaning behind the rather boastful title of the album, Ross likened himself to those such as 2pac, DMX and others when placing perspective on releasing two full length albums in one calendar year, with his Mastermind LP having dropped this past Spring. One of Maybach Music Group’s young gunners, Meek Mill is currently incarcerated and when the topic of the Philly spitter came up, Rozay was quick to emphasize that his forthcoming Dreams Worth More Than Money LP is at the top of the list pending his release, but subject of a joint project between the two is not completely out of the question.

Already known as being a shrewd business man, with successful Wing Stop franchises as well as other lucrative ventures, Rick Ross dished on being offered a 7 figure endorsement deal for cigarettes. With his new healthy Rossfit lifestyle, he opted out of that deal, choosing instead to go with mCig electronic cigarette company, a healthier alternative he feels. Rozay also hinted at touching the silver screen in 2015 as he has been in discussions to take Hollywood by storm. Check out that and more in the interview above.
