Tragedy strikes two people described as having “cool spirits”

According to a TMZ report, earlier today, Earl Hayes and his wife, VH1 star Stephanie Moseley, were found dead in their apartment in an apparent murder suicide. Neighbors heard commotion, then a gunshot and screaming, which prompted them to call the police. After a S.W.A.T. team was called in, two bodies were discovered. They were confirmed to be that of Hayes and Moseley.

Earl Hayes was a rapper that was once signed to Floyd Mayweather‘s Philthy Rich Records, and maintained close ties with several high-profile artists, including Hit-Boy, Timbaland and more. Moseley, aside from being the star of the VH1 show Hit The Floor, moonlighted as a back-up dancer for several stars, including Chris Brown, who left this message on his Instagram a short while ago.

UPDATE: It has been confirmed that Hayes shot his wife then turned the gun on himself.

UPDATE: According to a TMZ follow-up story, the affair Hayes was accusing his wife of having was with Trey Songz. Multiple sources close to Hayes allegedly told TMZ that Songz–who sent out his condolences via Twitter yesterday–was the source of several affair accusations Hayes sent his wife’s way. Outside of this report, we haven’t been able to confirm much else, but we’ll continue to update.
