When you go to see your favorite artists live, you witness something special for one night that you wouldn’t be able to get anywhere else at any other time. But what if that magical night was recorded and available in a collector’s edition, to be relived for future generations? Glad you asked. Daft Punk’s Grammy winning (Best Electronic Album/Best Electronic Single categories) album, ALIVE 2007, will be available on a dual vinyl set on December 23rd. It’s like the Robots knew you had trouble finding the perfect Christmas gift for your producer/EDM loving/vinyl junkie friend.
This will be the first time you can listen to it on vinyl since it’s first issue on CD and original recording from their June 14, 2007 show at the Parisian venue, Bercy. For those avid fans who always want more, a collector’s edition box set will also be available that will include the triple fold, double white vinyls, a bonus vinyl bonus (Side A (the show’s encore): “Human After All/”Togethe”/”One More Time (Reprise)”/”Music Sounds Better With You”)/Side B: ‘ALIVE 2007’ pyramid logo etched), a 52 page book (pictures taken during the shows), a slipmat, and a download card. On top of that, it will come with a silver vinyl edition of Daft Punk’s first live album, ALIVE 1997.
ALIVE 1997, which was recorded in Birmingham in 1997 during their first European tour, will also be available for separate purchase on vinyl.
