Directing legend Antoine Fuqua reunites with Academy Award-Winning actor Denzel Washington in this hard hitting, thrilling, action packed movie. “The Equalizer” follows the story of Denzel Washington who plays Robert McCall, a man who puts his mysterious past behind him in hopes of living a quiet, peaceful, and humble life. However, things quickly change after he meets a young girl named Teri, played by Chloe Grace Moretz, and has to save her from a gang of violent Russian gangsters. McCall, having a set of deadly skills, saves Teri, but when he does, unleashes the wrath of the Russian gang who is seeking retribution for their fallen members. The question now is, will Robert McCall’s special set of skills be enough to keep him alive from the army of Russian gangsters?
“The Equalizer” has been available on Digital HD since December 16 and will be on Blu-ray and DVD on December 30 from Sony Pictures Home Entertainment. The Blu-ray and DVD bonus features include two behind-the-scenes features such as a look at the film’s climactic Home Mart scene as well as Chloe Grace Moretz discussing her role as Teri and the research that she put into the role. The Blu-ray exclusive features include a feature known as “Vengeance Mode,” and exclusive photo gallery, and four behind-the-scenes featurettes. These four featurettes include a behind the scenes look at how Robert McCall was created and how he came to life, a look at how Denzel Washington trained for this physically tasking role, a firsthand look at what the movie making process was like from the view of director Antoine Fuqua, and lastly a discussion with Washington and the stunt coordinator Keith Woulard about the process of them making their own one man army.
Be sure to get either the DVD or Blu-ray on December 30.
