Aside from the ridiculous hair, missing tooth and outrageous personality, when it comes to his worth ethic, Danny Brown is an artist and he’s very serious about  his craft. The Detroit rapper sat down with Triple J and discussed a couple of projects he has in the works. He talked about the work that’s going into his follow-up to 2013’s OLD and another really cool project he’s been diligently working on. Brown also just put a studio in his home so he’s been really inspired to record.

“I’m in the early stages of [recording]. I got a studio in my house now so I’ll just wake up, stretch, record whenever I want,” he said. “I’ve been recording like a maniac.”

Brown also revealed he’s collaborating with what works best, “Paul White and Skywalker,” the same producers he usually works with. The most interesting part of the interview came when Brown revealed what he calls the “Dr. Seuss-y” children’s book he’s been working on.

“It’s really about self-esteem in black girls,” he said. “You know how black women do so much like process their hair, change their eye color. It’s really about a little girl who does all these things to herself and changes herself and she realizes she’s just better off the way she is. It’s something for my daughter too.”
