That’s right, the previously depressing Detroit Pistons that have been plagued all season by injuries, confusing offensive strategies and apparently Josh Smith, are now undefeated in 6 tries since Smith was claimed off waivers by the Houston Rockets. How are they doing it? Well, their bigs (Andre Drummond, Greg Monroe) are finally playing like bigs, and Brandon Jennings is going to Brandon Jennings, no matter what his team’s record is.

Last night, depsite falling behind by 18 points in the 1st quarter, the Pistons–who have crawled from the Eastern Conference’s cellar to within 3 games of the East’s 8th playoff seed–fought back with scrappy play and surefire rebounding, setting the stage for Brandon Jennings’ teardrop, off-the-backboard floater with just .1 seconds left on the clock.

Following the go-ahead bucket, Pistons coach Stan Van Gundy realized that with .1 seconds left on the clock, the only play that could legally snatch his team’s most impressive victory of the season from its jaws was a Spurs play at the rim. So, why guard the wing? Or behind the 3-point line? Or the sideline? This was Coach SVG’s brilliant defensive strategy.

“WE JUST FORM A F*****G WALL!” Yes, Stan. Yes. Congratulations.
