Typically whenever you go to see your favorite sports team play live, they normally have a fan giveaway or a player bobble head night; but, this time around the Atlanta Hawks decided to take a different route attracting new fans. For the first time, the Hawks hosted “Swipe Right Night“. During their matchup against the Memphis Grizzlies, the Atlanta Hawks promotion team decided to encourage fans to search, and meet up with their Tinder App matches while the game is in session. Fans tweeted their play by play analysis, as they attempted to get their mack on with potential matches from their Tinder App. There were security guards wearing special “Swipe Left” t-shirts, along with dating games being held during halftime. In one of the most awkward yet successful romantic nights in the city life of Atlanta, the Hawks were able to prevail against the Grizzlies 96-86.

While the festivities were going on, a fan tweeted the Brooklyn Nets and New York Knicks regarding how come they don’t have a Tinder night. In witty fashion, Brooklyn Nets responded back to the Twitter heckler by quoting a verse from their OG known as Jay-Z.

Such harsh words coming from the team that has the livest borough, and will be playing host to this year’s NBA All Star Weekend. No need for a Tinder match when fans will be able to see first hand of how accurate the late great Biggie Smalls slogan is…

Spread love, it’s the Brooklyn way.
