Rozonda “Chilli” Thomas says that the latest TLC album will be sponsored by the fans and facilitated through Kickstarter. Chilli said, “Fans have even been sending ideas for what they want a new album cover to look like — they get so creative. They have so much love for us, and we thought, “We gotta do this, and we have to involve the fans.” When asked about whether her late TLC sister, Lisa “Left Eye” Lopes will be included on their final album, Chilli said, “Probably not, but I’m not going to say ‘no’ because we’re open to it. But at the end of the day, everyone knows how much we love our sister. You go to our show, you feel her presence.” Thomas also discussed  TLC’s reasons for why this will be their last album saying, “We’re so blessed to have an amazing catalog. It’s rare to have a catalog that’s full of songs that people love and to get an opportunity to add to that, and to say it’s the last album. We don’t really know what the future holds, but this is so important to us and we want to do it right.”

In addition to their exciting campaign, TLC will also tour with New Kids on the Block and Nelly. Donnie Wahlberg announced on ABC’s Good Morning America:

“We are bringing with us the biggest girl group in the history of music—TLC. This is such a great bill and we have so many hit records and such huge followings that we just want to make it the party of the year. That’s why we call it ‘The Main Event.’ It’s going to be the event of the year.”

But wait, there’s more! Wahlberg, hearing of the Kickstarter campaign announced that he’s “pledging $10,000 right now. It’s going in. We’re in. But you have to do a duet with us.”
