Ty Lawson gets nabbed.
Denver Nuggets point guard Ty Lawson has been known for his partying habits off the court but that may have landed him in the slammer early Friday morning. Denver PD is reporting that Lawson was going 61 MPH in a 35 MPH zone when he was stopped. Officers say after he was pulled over, he admitted to consuming alcohol earlier in the evening. Things apparently went down hill from there as the officer claims that his eyes were bloodshot, speech was slurred, all while being off balance, which led to Lawson failing the field sobriety test. He has since been released after being taken into custody.
Denver Nuggets General Manager and Executive Vice President of Basketball Operations Tim Connelly issued a statement on behalf of the team.
“We have been made aware of an incident involving Ty Lawson early this morning. Per team policy and out of respect for the legal process, we will have no further comment at this time.”
