Each week, All Def Digital’s show The Signal highlights unsigned artists who are doing their thing. This week’s pick is a twenty-something hustlepreneur from Cali. Rather than assimilating into the soundscape that the West Coast is well-known for, rapper C Plus is stands out on “Sorbet,” with flawless delivery and clever wordplay. In order to bring the lyrics to life, the Sacramento based lyricist teamed up with Top Floor filmmaker Farid Xan to create an action-packed visual that takes it back to the blocks and rooftops of Manhattan. Integrating clips from the intro of the Playstation 1 classic Grand Theft Auto 2, watch as Plus pays homage to those out there “taking those risks” with his Trox (50 Cent, Ab-Soul, Royce da 5’9) produced track.
