A stellar mixture of the who’s who in the rap and sports industry brought the crowd out in Baruch College in lower Manhattan

Finally, the week of one of the most talked about series of events is here.

The highly anticipated 2015 NBA All Star Weekend in New York City is just 2 days away. By giving the public a nice taste of what to expect for this weekend, the good folks from Hard2Guard Entertainment hosted their 1st annual celebrity charity all star basketball game. Organized by New York Knicks equipment/production manager Edgar Burgos and Fun Sport Youth Basketball Program CEO Rickey Rivers, the objective of the event was to raise awareness to fight for a cure for diabetes. The event successfully raised up to $5,000 for research into solving the issue in winning the battle against the fight of diabetes.  The festivities began by a smooth performance by Lost Boyz’s own Mr. Cheeks. The Queens vet had the crowd two stepping to his hit song “Lights, Camera, Action”. Then afterwards it was time for tip off. A nice combination of former pro hoopers, rappers and tv personalities made a decent debut on the court as they surprised quite of few fans with their competitive spirit and uncanny ability to make some impressive plays on the hardwood floor. Amongst the ballers who suited up that night were Lost Boyz member Mr. Cheeks, Power 105.1’s DJ Clue, St. John’s University great Felipe Lopez, TNT/NBAStyle’s personality Lance Fresh, former New York Knick standout John Wallace, preacher Carl Lentz, actor Marc John Jeffries, America’s favorite jew Hot 97’s Peter Rosenberg, streetball legend Bobbito Garcia,  The L.O.X.’s own Jadakiss, NFL great Simeon Rice, DJ Webstar, And 1/Ball Up’s Pat The Roc and Mr. Afrika. In the star studded event, Team Hard2Guard coach by the boogie down Bronx’s own Fat Joe went up against Team Funsport coached by New York Yankee pitcher C.C. Sabathia. In a highly entertaining game, Team Funsport was able to run away with the win over Team Hard2Guard, 81-60.

One of the stars of the game were Jadakiss as he was able to prove to fans that he can knock down some deep three pointers along with proven why he call himself “Mr. Top 5 Dead or Alive”in the booth. Simeon Rice showed fans that he’s on the defensive side for a reason as his huge muscle physique gave his opponents tough times to scored and get pass the quarterback sacking machine. But the two superstars who stole the show were Ball Up’s Pat The Roc and Mr. Afrika. Pat The Roc lived up to the name as he was able to cross people over and was sinking tough floaters. Meanwhile, Mr. Afrika was putting on a high jumping clinic, just soaring over everybody for high octane dunks and put backs. Named MVP of the celebrity game, Mr. Afrika definitely brought the house down with his athleticism and charisma on the court.

While the action was going on, there were many celebrities who decided to be apart of the festivities from the cheering stands while showing fans a lot of love and gratitude. NY Giant wide receiver great Victor Cruz, We The Best’s DJ Khaled, Love & Hip Hop’s own Chrissy Monroe, Def Jam’s Shawn Pecas and NY Knick legend John Starks were on hand to attend this great event for a outstanding cause. In addition, BSB’s own Troy Ave made a grand entrance during the game. During halftime, the Brooklyn rapper performed his latest smash hits “Doo Doo” and “All About The Money” featuring Young Lito, having fans diddy bopping and shmoney dancing all over the stands.

Closing out the night, the fans were blessed to a dope surprised from Jadakiss and Fat Joe as they performed their classic verses from the hit Ja Rule anthem entitled “New York”. With a jam packed event that occurred last night in Baruch college, it is pretty clear that the event can be labeled as a “lituation”.  Outstanding fan participation, awesome live professional play by play analysis by Nike Summer Pro City announcer Brawley Chisholm Jr and great live music, expect another successful celebrity game to come your way by the Hard2Guard camp real soon.
