Joey is speaking for his generation, if no one else is

B4.DA.$$ is Joey Bada$$‘ proper debut album, and amongst the 15-song tracklist is this cut, “Like Me,” which has proved to be one of the LP’s more popular songs. Joey and BJ performed it on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, but today they’ve unveiled the record’s provocative video, which features Joey Bada$$ providing a healthy alternative to an attractive girls’ toxic relationship, and getting shot by the police when its toxic nature proves to be too much for Bada$$ and an angry young man to handle. In a clear conveyance of a message, Joey is shot in the back as he runs away from the police with his arms up, despite the fact that he was unarmed, and not involved in any of the violence that took place prior to his demise.

Watch–and learn–above. Make sure you get B4.DA.$$ on iTunes if you haven’t done so already.
