Starter X Villa Clubhouse: Bridging the Gap
We took another trip back over to the Starter X Villa Clubhouse Pop-up Shop, located at the Paramount Hotel. With guests purchasing merchandise and refreshments sponsored by Coors Light, we had a very intriguing and inspirational discussion with a few street wear style icons (and now, pop culture), April Walker, John Geiger and Frank the Butcher.
Frank the Butcher, as a creative director amongst a number of other titles, is well known for creating Always BAU and his sneaker collaborations with Reebok, New Balance, Adidas, just to name a few. John Geiger is well known for managing Darrelle Revis, cornerback of the New England Patriots and for his unique collaborations with Nike’s Air Force Ones. April Walker is well known for her clothing line that originated in the 90s called Walker Wear. Walker Wear has been worn by a number of artists such as Jam Master Jay, Tupac, Biggie, Naughty By Nature, Jay-Z and Aaliyah. Walker also released a recent collaboration with Starter and the Pop-Up will be available until Saturday.
Frank the Butcher, John Geiger and April Walker gave us the opportunity to dig inside of their creative minds and ask a few questions pertaining to their contributions and artistic visions regarding to urban wear, their evolution of progress and hardships over time and an idea of what we can expect in the near future.
