If you’re reading this and you’re not hip to Ty Dolla $ign, it’s too late. He’s out of here. The man responsible for Chris Brown‘s “Loyal,” a couple hits of his own–“Paranoid” and “Or Nah”–and a sleazy, intricate sound that has become the sonic backdrop for today’s contemporary R&B–Trey Songz, PARTYNEXTDOOR and more–is finally releasing his proper debut album, Free TC, in 2015, and his second single has arrived. “Drop That Kitty,” which isn’t necessarily an ode to the feline of the 9-life variety, features two women who know a little something about smash hits–Charli XCX and Tinashe–who had killer 2014’s in their own right, and the record comes with a little bit of everything. There’s $ign’s signature sleaze, XCX’s Top 40, pep rally hook voice, and Tinashe’s sexy steez.
