The internet finds a way to pull an extremely awkward video clip

Michael Keaton was really the only other person Hollywood expected to have a real shot at getting the prestigious Best Actor nod at Sunday’s Academy Awards, and this short clip shows that he thought the same thing.

Somehow, the world wide web managed to get their hands on an angle from Sunday’s broadcast that shows Michael Keaton, standing front row, stuffing a small piece of paper back into his jacket, and the ‘net is presuming that it was his acceptance speech.

That is really, really awkward. Eddie Redmayne, who delivered an amazing performance in The Theory Of Everything–which, ironically, lost to Birdman for the biggest award of the night, Best Picture–waltzed to the microphone excitedly and delivered his acceptance speech, but the above clip will forever fossilize the moment that could’ve been forever.
