Ladies and gentlemen, Kendrick Lamar is back
October 22nd will make 3 years since Kendrick Lamar took the game by storm with the release his platinum-selling debut album, good kid, m.A.A.d. city, and in his absence, Kendrick has gone from rap’s socially conscious soldier to international Hip-Hop star. His sophomore album is among the most coveted projects in the genre–right up there with Kanye‘s 7th LP and Drake‘s 4th–and according to the iTunes pre-order link the TDE rapper just tweeted, the wait will be over on March 23rd.
We only have one official single from Kendrick’s sophomore album, but it’s a big 1. “i” cracked the Billboard Hot 100 Top 40, and earned Kendrick Lamar his first two Grammy Awards this past February, which is how you really do this album roll-out thing. In addition to that, the Compton emcee had the entire nation lauding his performance on The Coldbert Report, during which he debuted a powerful record backed by Bilal and Thundercat.
The album’s title has yet to be revealed–for now, it’s being referred to as “Untitled”–and there’s very little additional information, but it isn’t like we’ll be waiting long. Start the countdown. We’re just 17 days away…
