When it comes to rape, the United States of America can be a little lenient on the suspects. In other countries, rape is a crime that can not and will not be tolerated. India proved this Thursday evening.

A 35-year old man who is described as an “illegal immigrant” from Bangladesh had been accused of raping a local woman in February. As the convicted rapist laid in his a cell, a mob of students dressed in uniform came and dragged the suspect out of of the jail and beat him so severely he succumbed to his injuries.

As the crowd was beating the man, police used teargas and and bamboo canes to stop the mob and rescue the man. After those didn’t work, they shot a warning shot to stop the crowd, but it was too late. Initially, the crowd wanted to hang the suspect but his body was taken by authorities before the hanging began.

India has been under fire after a convicted rapist did an interview where he blamed the victim for her rape, she should just be silent and allow the rape.”  The unseen interview opened the world’s eyes to violence against women in India.
