01. Petey Pablo – Raise Up

Off the top of the head many might not know Timbaland produced this record, but after a few seconds of listening you can tell. Many of Timbaland’s productions sample musicians from overseas and “Raise Up” was no different. The sample comes from Egyptian percussionist Hossam Ramzy‘s song, “Enta Omri.” (Fast forward to the 5:28 mark to here the sample.) “Raise Up”, which was released in August 2001, peaked at number 25 on the Billboad Hot 100 chart and was certified gold by 2002.
