This week has already been a nightmare for members of University of Oklahoma fraternity Sigma Alpha Epsilon. A video was released of members singing a racist chant and right away the fraternity was kicked off campus. As the fraternity was shut down, it hurt not only those members who did not participate in the chant but also a lovable cook who is now unemployed.

Howard Dixon has been working for the fraternity for 15 years. When the fraternity shut down, Dixon found himself out of a job, a job he has loved for 15 years. Former members of the fraternity created two crowdfunding pages to raise money for the cook.

“Those of you who lived in the house, undoubtedly came to love Howard and his infectious smile (if not his chili dogs),” said the page of a former SAE member.

“Well, that man is going to walk up to the SAE house tomorrow morning and hear that he no longer has a job. He is going to learn who has been working for. And through some cruel twist of fate, he has to lose the job that he has held for over a decade. He is going to lose his job because of a bus full of racist kids.”

Already, one of the pages has raised $40,000 out of $50,000 asked to raise for the cook. A GoFundMe page was created by another SAE member that has raised $12,000 out of the $50,000 that the page was requesting for.
