This all new HBO biopic about “The Empress Of The Blues,” Bessie Smith, also stars Mo’Nique and Mike Epps. Bessie tracks the legendary singer’s rise to fame as she struggled to become an artist and then succeeded in integrating audiences as one of the most notable artists in the 1920’s. Queen Latifah does a remarkable job portraying this soulful singer and beautifully embodies the fierce and untamed spirit of Bessie Smith.
