The sound always ensues from the realities of our surroundings.

Toronto’s Derek Wise makes a glamorous return to the blogs with a bang. The Get Home Safe/XO artist drops “Settle Down” and “Purple Candy”. Only “Settle Down” is coming off his debut project Mom’s Basement. Both tracks are very much in pocket with Derek’s established unique flow that has aviated him into the catogery of the most rad up and coming artists from the Dot. His choice of trap-infused beats combined with dark yet jiggy flow, spitting some heavy bars talking about the afterhours scene in Toronto which most people are no strangers to.

Production on both tracks is handled by Geoff Wood with an extra hand lended by D.R.O. for “Purple Candy” who handsomely crafted the turnt up beats. There are no indications of when Mom’s Basement is set to drop but these two tracks should hold his fans down until then. Stream the tracks below.
