Don’t be ashamed! She’s a winner and she’s a dime. Named Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Rookie of The Year, Rohrbach, 24 is quite modest about the whole process. In fact, up until this year, she’d never been in anybody’s magazine posing in a bathing suit. “I’m not a model,” Rohrbach tells The Source.

“SI was my first model shoot. That is pretty cool, that is pretty cool!”

What’s cooler is how she got there. According to the Greenwich, Connecticut native and actress, she decided to pursue modeling and shelve acting for a little while. After consistent prodding from a friend she changed her mind! To her credit her acting resume is nothing to sneeze at. She’d appeared on the television series Two and a Half Men. Additionally, she’s appeared in The New Normal and the television movie Love Is Relative.

But she switched it up and she’s glad she did. “I decided to give modeling a go and the rest is history,” she said.

She knew her worth and Rohrbach is making history!

Rohrbach was recently named Sports Illustrated’s 2015 Rookie of the Year. That’s a big friggin’ deal!

Enter her name in the record books with the likes of Chrissy Teigen, Nina Agdal, and Kate Upton!  “Every girl wants to be in Sports Illustrated, right,” asked Rohrbach. “When it comes out ,every girl says ‘Wow look at those girls.’ I just didn’t think I was capable of being that; which is amazing!”

Rohrbach has upped the ante since appearing in the magazine too! Her first love was acting and it seems that she went back to her roots! She’s currently starring alongside Seinfeld’s Julia Louis-Dreyfus in Old Navy commercials. She’s living the dream! So what’s next? “I’m trying to figure it out,” she said.

“I know it sounds like a bad answer, but I’m figuring it out. I’d love to act and to model.”

Shifting topics, the reigning Rookie of the Year also shared with The Source the best piece of advice that she ever received. That advice, came from actress Laura Dern who said: “Keep your eyes on your own paper.”

According to Rohrbach, she read that anecdote in a magazine interview as a child. My how things come full circle! Kelly Rohrbach was once a gal in Connecticut reading quotes from Laura Dern and looking up to her! Now, she’s getting love in a magazine that young women are reading today! So about that quote? “I thought it was a perfect way to look at life,” said Rohrbach.

“Just focus. Don’t focus on what other people are doing. Don’t compete against anybody but yourself and keep your eyes on your own paper!”
