If you have read about the life of Dr. Martin Luther King, you would know that in 1958 he was stabbed in Harlem during a book signing. It is believed the woman who stabbed Dr. King, Izola Ware Curry was mentally unstable when she approached King saying she had been looking for him for 5 years and stabbed King with an open letter knife.
According to The Smoking Gun, Curry died of natural causes in a Queens nursing home on March 7th at the age of 98. After the stabbing, this became the highlight of King’s career as it would be included in his autobiography. Since stabbing King, Curry has been in and out of mental institutions until finally being placed in a nursing home.
