Hot off the heels of Run All Night and an Oscar win and the Fargo TV series respectively, Common and Billy Bob-Thorton are joining the action-thriller Hunter Killer.
Variety reports that both actors have signed onto the project about a Navy special forces unit that’s tasked with fighting a renegade Russian military leader hellbent on bringing about World War III. Thorton has been cast as Admiral Charles Donnegan, while Common steps into the shoes of Rear Admiral John Fisk; both join an already cast Gerard Butler as Capt. Glass. Thonrton.
Based on the novel by George Wallace and Don Keith, Martin Campbell (Green Lantern) is directing, so given the state of Green Lantern, take that as you will. No trailer or release dat have been unveiled yet, but keep an eye on The Source for details.
