After the phenomenal success of other Disney live-action reboots such as Alice in Wonderland, Maleficent and this year’s Cinderella, which grossed over $336 million in its first three weeks, Disney has announced an all new live-action Mulan is under way. This movie, based on the life of the legendary Chinese warrior Hua Mulan is set to be produced by Chris Bender and J.C. Spink. We’re all familiar with the female empowering story of Mulan who transforms into a Chinese warrior under the guise of a man, to protect her elderly handicapped father from fighting in China’s army. Other upcoming live action Disney movies include The Jungle Book, the sequel to Alice in Wonderland and Beauty and the Beast starring Emma Watson as Belle.
