Loser: San Francisco 49ers
The 49ers fired the man who led them to three consecutive NFC championship appearances and a Super Bowl appearance when they let go of head coach Jim Harbaugh. Say what you want about him, he turned the 49ers into winners. The losses didn’t stop there unfortunately. 49ers legends Frank Gore and Patrick Willis are both no longer on the team. Gore signed with the Colts and Willis retired. The 49ers signed Torrey Smith to a five-year, $40m contract. They essentially payed first string money to a wide receiver who played second fiddle to 35-year old Steve Smith Sr. last year in Baltimore. 49ers also signed Darnell Dockett, who at 33 years old is past his prime.
