Just days after winning the national championship in Indianapolis, freshman sensation Jahlil Okafor finally did what the entire NBA universe was expecting him to do.

The 19-year-old product from out of Chicago has decided to enter into the 2015 NBA Draft. Okafor had a outstanding, magical season as he was able to average 17.3 points and 8.5 rebounds per game. These breakout numbers helped him made history by becoming the first freshman ever to win ACC Freshman and Player Of The Year honors. In a press conference, Duke head coach Mike Krzyzewski had this to say about Jahlil:

What a great decision! This is a tremendous opportunity for Jahlil and he has earned it. Obviously, he has done an incredible job here at Duke and he will always be a part of our Duke basketball family. We could not be happier for he and his family.

With the struggling New York Knicks being favorites to receive a lottery pick, Okafor is projected to be the #2 pick in this year’s NBA Draft . Many experts are expecting Phil Jackson to select the former high school All-American to help Carmelo Anthony with scoring and defensive duties. Only time will tell as we are just 2 months away from the NBA Draft.
