Mr. Marc Jacobs being Sued

Marc Jacobs is being sued by adidas because of the infamous three-stripes, WOW! Adidas is coming out accusing Marc Jacobs of mimicking their three-stripe motif with sweatshirts with four stripes down each sleeve. Adidas filed a lawsuit against Marc Jacobs International court this week. They used a very similar approach with their newest four-stripe accent that is mistaken for the three-stripe accent that adidas is infamously known for. Most consumers would believe that the design was Adidas made, but it’s not.

“The purchasing public has come to associate the Three-Stripe Mark with Adidas,” read the lawsuit. “Marc Jacobs’s merchandise is likely to cause confusion, deceive the public regarding its source, and dilute and tarnish the distinctive quality of Adidas’ Three-Stripe Mark.”

Adidas is continuing to use the stripes for more product including the Y-3 collaboration with designer Yohji Yamamoto, what are your thoughts? Do you feel Marc Jacobs copied Adidas with the three stripes? Feel free to leave your thoughts on our Twitter and Facebook.
