Eaze, an on-demand marijuana delivery service nicknamed the “Uber for Weed”, has raised $10 million thanks to their first round of investors. The San Francisco startup, founded by early Yammer employee Keith McCarty, raised $1.5 million in seed funding in November 2014. It was one of the first marijuana companies to get support from institutional investors, who in the past have been reluctant to invest their money in medical marijuana.

The first round of investors to support Eaze from the very beginning are DCM Ventures, Snoop Dogg’s investment firm Casa Verde Capital, Fresh VC, and 500 Startups.

At the time we invested in the seed, we had a thesis the medical marijuana market would continue to grow, and from a regulatory perspective, it would move toward deregulation. Things accelerated much faster than we had anticipated.”
-Kyle Lui, principal at DCM Ventures

Eaze services are currently available in the Bay Area, and plans to expand to other parts of California and eventually other states like Nevada, Arizona, Washington, Colorado, and Oregon.
