Just when you thought it was all over for Tebow-mania.
It appeared as though Tim Tebow’s NFL career had reached its conclusion, but the former Heisman Trophy winner has yet another shot at being a professional quarterback.
The 27-year-old quarterback signed with the Philadelphia Eagles today, before the team’s offseason program begins. ESPN reported it’s a one-year deal and added more information:
“Tim Tebow has reached agreement on a new deal with the Eagles, two sources said Sunday.
Tebow is scheduled to arrive in Philadelphia — and get a deal done — in time to be in attendance for the start of the Eagles off-season program Monday.
Philadelphia has finalized an agreement with the 27-year-old Tebow, the framework of which was put into place when he worked out for the team last month.”
It took a long time for Tebow to get that opportunity, but he is now in line to potentially make an impact at the NFL level once again.
If nothing else, he is a great locker room presence, although it bears watching how Chip Kelly and the Eagles handle the extra media attention that Tebow will inevitably bring.
