Back in 2010, Austin Babb shot and killed 19 year old Demetrius Jones, and wounded three others during a house party in the Bronx. Babb was convicted of second degree murder and is awaiting sentencing.

As he was about to be sentenced, Babb threw out the ridiculous request for it to be withheld so he could marry his longtime girlfriend at Rikers Island. Babb called his lawyer Monday to see if the sentencing could be withheld so he can get married. Prosecutors did not object to the request, and granted Babb the right to get married before being sentenced.  His sentencing will now be May 20th.

Vachelle Jones, mother of the victim, was highly upset at the request, because this is the second time the murderer of her son has his sentencing has been pushed back.

“I’m hurt,” said  Jones. “He gets conjugal visits as a murderer and I don’t even have my child!”

Babb could be sentenced 25 years to life for the murder.
