The Mavs coach saved himself a little money with a little packaging tape

Despite their convincing Game 4 victory, the Dallas Mavericks still trail the Houston Rockets 3-1 in their opening round series, and unless they do what’s never been done–come back from a 3-0 deficit to win a series–they’ll be home watching the Rockets take on either the Clippers or the Spurs next week. Following Game 3’s 130-128 loss to the Mavs, putting the Rockets in an 0-3 hole, Mavs head coach Rick Carlisle was critical of the refereeing, and was subsequently fined $25,000 for his comments

Following the Mavs Game 4 win, Carlisle was again asked by reporters about the game’s refereeing, and to avoid bringing his fine total to $50,000 for the series, employed an interesting tactic to keep his comments politically correct. Genius.

Mavs will attempt to stave off elimination once again in Game 5, tomorrow night at 8 PM.
