Looks as if Willie got a fan in Larry Bird
Former Kentucky Wildcat and upcoming NBA Draftee Willie Cauley-Stein is not only considered a top draft pick but also according to Larry Bird, worth a pretty penny. After an impressive run in college, he worked out at this past week’s NBA Draft Combine where NBA great Larry Bird got a look at him and sang praises. According to Candace Buckner of the Indianapolis Star, Cauley-Stein stated after his interview with the Pacers, “Larry [Bird] told me, ‘I think you’re a $100 million dollar player.’ I hear that and I’m like, ‘Really?!’
That’s kind of a big deal considering Larry Bird been around the game for years and has seen talent come and go in the league. Will have to wait till the start of the season to see if he really is worth the hype and money.
