In Waco, Texas this past Sunday a horrible scene erupted outside of the Twin Peaks restaurant where 5 separate biker gangs had a planned meet-up that ended in violence. Wounded people lay strewn across the parking lot of the restaurant in what police are claiming is an alleged recruitment meeting that was expected to take place.

In my nearly 35 years of law enforcement experience, this is the most violent and gruesome scene that I have dealt with.”

Said Waco Police Sgt. W. Patrick Swanton, speaking on behalf of the responding police departments. He expressed anger with the restaurant for not being cooperative with police in past dealings with biker gangs.

The corporation controlling the franchised branch of the restaurant released a statement that in part read, “We are thankful no employees, guests or police were injured in this senseless violence outside the restaurant, and our sympathies are with the families of those killed.”

The events began when a dispute in the restaurant bathroom bled into the rest of the restaurant and then out into the parking lot, where a brawl led to members of gangs shooting not only at each other but then at police. In all over 170 were arrested. As of Monday, police in the area are reporting they have now been warned that members of the Bandidos and Cossacks motorcycle gangs making up the majority of the brawl have been instructed to arm themselves and travel to north Texas.
“There’s been enough bloodshed. There’s been enough death here,” Sergeant Swanton said somberly on CNN’s Anderson Cooper 360 Monday night in response to the possibility of more violence coming to the city.
