Your birth certificates don’t mean anything to Ms. Dolezal
Last night, news broke that Rachel Dolezal, the president of the Spokane chapter of the NAACP, was a white woman pretending to be African-American, reportedly cutting off communication with her Caucasian parents in order to help protect her secret.
Not too long after, a reporter caught up with Dolezal in her office, and asked her about the claims. She responded by saying that she doesn’t give “two f*cks,” and that the only people to whom she owes an explanation is the Black community–she made sure to mention that she prefers to be referred to as Black and not African-American.
The reporter, keen to make sure that her comments aren’t taken out of context, made sure to very bluntly ask the question of the day at the end of the video clip. Watch it here.
