Police have identified the man responsible for the hate crime attack in a South Carolina church
Following last night’s horrific tragedy which left nine people mortally wounded in a church in Charleston, South Carolina, police have identified the killer.
21 year old Dylann Storm Roof walked into the Emanuel African Methodist Church on Wednesday night during bible study and opened fire, murdering as many as nine parishioners, according to reports.
According to Charleston Police, this massacre is now being investigated as a hate crime.
The Columbia, SC native, who is white, reportedly told his victims,
“I have to do it. You rape our women and you’re taking over our country. And you have to go,”
according to an eyewitness.
There is still a manhunt underway for Roof, who is currently out on bond on drugs and trespassing charges.
