Three suspects have been charged in the brutal murder of a teenager.
According to NY Daily News, on June 7th, 16 year old Arnesha Bowers was found dead in her grandmother’s burning home. The suspects Adonay Dixon, 23, John Childs, 20, and 14 year old Raeshawn Rivers are accused of breaking into the home of Bowers, sexually assaulting her, killing her and taking $40 with a laptop and an iPad. Rivers, who was arrested days after the murder, knew the victim and will be charged as an adult.
Police believe that the murder of Bowers was a gang initiation and believe that two of the suspects are apart of the Blood gang. Two of the suspects have been charged with gang activity. Police say that Bowers was kidnapped and raped before her genitals were set on fire to destroy evidence of the rape.
