It’s official. Free agent point guard Rajon Rondo has inked a 1 year $9.5 Million contract with the Sacramento Kings. The point guard was the subject of much scrutiny this past season after a blockbuster trade sent him from the Boston Celtics to the Dallas Mavericks. His time in Dallas was unsavory to say the least. Aside from never fully gelling with the team on the court, he was involved in a very public confrontation with Mavs head coach Rick Carlisle when he was pulled from a game after picking up two quick fouls and a tech.

That would be the last time Rondo would be seen in a Mavericks uniform as it was announced that he would no longer play through the remainder of the playoffs due to an undisclosed injury. This was later revealed to be a coverup for the disagreements between player and coach. Today, Rondo looks to start fresh with a brand new franchise but he has much work to do. Coming off a devastating knee injury back in January 2013, Rondo Numba Nine has not returned to the all-star caliber player who once helped lead the Celtics to a championship. His numbers on the court have lagged, and his attitude off the court has been rubbing people the wrong way.

Hopefully pairing him with another star in DeMarcus Cousins, as well as sharpshooter Marco Belinelli, will help Rondo regain his footing.

Feels like that 1 year deal is just to see if he can get back into prime mode and get his act together. We gon’ see! – Rocko Rathon (@Rocko_CNK)
