Bareface & Messy Buns

Designer to the stars, Adam Selman, recently debuted his Resort 2016 collection and onlookers were not just captivated by his trippy textile choices and wide-leg silhouettes but instead were intrigued by the hair and makeup choices on the models. All the models sported barefaces and messy buns. In alignment with Drake’s “sweatpants hair tied, chillin’ with no makeup on” tagline, the minimal makeup look for summer appears vivacious and refreshing. Now, I’m not saying you should kick your makeup kit to the curb. Instead of choosing a full coverage foundation, nix it for a simple BB cream or tinted moisturizer. Set it with some light pressed powder and call it a day. Finalize your look by swooping your hair in a messy bun with a hair tie and a few pins. This cute and simplistic look is ideal for a long day at the beach or a Netflix-and-chill night at your beau’s house.

Dark Eyebrows

In the beauty world, using a black pencil to shade in your eyebrows has always been a no-no. Any expert makeup artist would advise that no matter how dark your hair, dark brown is always the move for dark brows. Well Marc Jacobs is breaking the golden eyebrow rule, debuting a runway full of black-colored brows. If you want the fullness and opaque appearance of brows like Cara Delevingne, opt for an eyebrow pencil that’s a shade or two darker than your usual choice.

Strobing

Contouring is officially “so last year.” Moving into the summer season, makeup artists are introducing the new trend strobing. Contouring requires lots of different products to achieve the look, ranging from dark and light concealers to achieve contrasting appearance to graphic lines of bronzer and blush. Strobing, on the other hand, can simply be achieved through using an illuminating highlighter above your cheekbones, on the bridge of your nose, on your brow bone, and along your cupid’s bow.

Tribal Inspired Makeup

Adrienne Bosh recently shared a selfie of her and gal pal Kim Kardashian. In the epic snap, the mother of three, and wife to NBA superstar Chris Bosh, is sporting a cute tribal inspired eye makeup look, proving that tribal inspired makeup isn’t just a Coachella trend but rather a look that can be donned in real life. Tribal inspired makeup is a cute and fun way to experiment with some of your makeup pigments and colored eyeliners.

Dewy Face

When it comes to makeup you can either opt for a matte finish or a shimmering dewy look. Makeup trends point to the dewy face this summer. With July projected to bring in a major heat wave, don’t worry about blotting your face to control the shine. Nix the matte look for a dewy face. Shimmering and illuminating makeup is all the rave this summer. Achieving a dewy look is all about picking the right products. Opt for a foundation that’s talc-free and doesn’t have Octinoxate and pick up a makeup setting spray like Nyx’s Dewy Finish Makeup Setting Spray.
