Check out M.I.A.’s two news songs, one of which will be featured on her fifth studio album.
M.I.A. will be releasing her fifth studio album “Matahdatah” via Insterscope Records. “Matahdatah Scroll 01 ‘Broader Than A Border’” features the tracks “Swords” and “Warriors” and is accompanied by a video combining the two songs into one cohesive work. Directed by M.I.A. herself, the video features footage of India and Cote d’Ivoire. Co-produced by Spanker, “Swords”premiered on Zane Lowe’s Beats 1 radio show as his World Record and the film was released Monday via Apple Music. M.I.A. said, “I directed and edited my first music video for “Warriors” for my last album, MATANGI, and I held it back until now, because it inspired me to make a whole series of songs and videos on the concept of borders.” She also added, “The concept for this LP is ”broader then a border” and MATAHDATAH is the journal of MATANGI. Sometimes I move vertical and sometimes I move horizontal.”
