We’ve got a little something different for you this week.
To classify ForteBowie as “just another rapper” would be a mistake. The ever-evolving artist of Cameroonian descent is skilled as a singer, songwriter, rapper, and producer. Hailing from Atlanta’s Southside, his eclectic musical influences range from Phil Collins, Michael Jackson, OutKast, Prince, Sting, and Sade; his wide range of inspirations allow him to create a seamless soundscape that transcends genres, while giving him a sound that’s all his own. This week’s episode of The Signal features the video for his track “chanelofhoustOn (Just Too Much),” which opens like a suavely produced R&B record, but is infused with smooth-talking hip hop.
